Noor Mubeen is a Qur'an reader with a reciter-identification feature. If something isn't working as expected, or you have a question, please write to us — we read every message.

Common questions

The reciter identification doesn't return a result.

Make sure the recording is at least 20 seconds of clear recitation, free of background music or speech. The first request after a long idle period can take a few extra seconds while the server warms up.

The app is asking for microphone permission — is that needed?

Yes, only for the reciter-identification feature. The Mushaf reader works fully offline and does not need microphone access. You can deny or revoke microphone permission at any time from your device settings; the rest of the app continues to work.

Are my recordings stored anywhere?

No. The audio is sent over HTTPS to our prediction server, used to compute the prediction, and discarded immediately. No recordings or personal information are retained. See the privacy policy for details.

Does the Mushaf reader work offline?

Yes. The full muṣḥaf is bundled with the app and works without any network connection. Only the reciter identification feature requires the internet.

The app feels slow to start or a page is blank.

Force-quit the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, reinstall the app and email us with your device model and OS version so we can investigate.

Reporting an issue

When reporting a bug, the most useful details are:

  • Device model and OS version (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17.4)
  • App version (shown on the home screen of the app)
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
  • Screenshots if the issue is visual

Feature requests

Suggestions for reciters to add, translations, or features are welcome at the same address. We can't promise everything will ship, but every request is read.
