Privacy policy
Last updated: 14 May 2026
This policy explains how the Noor Mubeen mobile application handles your information. By using the app you agree to the practices described below.
What we collect
The app collects an audio recording of your voice (at least 20 seconds) only while you are actively using the reciter-identification feature. The audio is sent to our server, processed for the prediction, and discarded immediately. We do not store recordings.
We do not collect:
- Name, email, phone number, or any account credentials.
- Location, contacts, photos, or any other device data.
- Advertising or analytics identifiers.
- Anything that could identify you across other apps.
How recordings are processed
When you tap "Identify Reciter" the app records audio locally, uploads it over HTTPS to our prediction server at quranreciterapi.duckdns.org, receives the predicted reciter and confidence, and deletes the local file. The server does not persist the audio.
Permissions
- iOS — Microphone: record audio for identification.
- Android — RECORD_AUDIO: record audio for identification.
- Android — INTERNET: send the recording to our server.
Revoke microphone access at any time from your device settings. The Mushaf reader works fully offline; only the reciter feature needs the network.
Children
The app is for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children. We do not retain recordings, so there is nothing to delete — but you may still contact us.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The only network destination contacted by the app is our own prediction server.
Security
All recordings are transmitted over HTTPS. The app does not transmit any other personal data.
Your rights
Because we do not retain recordings or any identifying information, there is no data set we can access, export, or delete on your behalf. You can ensure no recordings leave your device by denying microphone permission.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will update the date above and post the new version here.
